Since 1987, the EU provides funding for the mobility of students and teachers in Europe through the Erasmus program. The overall aim of the Erasmus+ program is to support the educational, professional and personal development of people in the fields of education, training, youth and sport in Europe through lifelong learning, thus contributing to sustainable growth, skilled jobs, social cohesion, promoting innovation, strengthening European identity and active citizenship.
The following priorities have been set for the Erasmus+ program generation 2021-2027
- Inclusion and diversity
- Digital transformation
- Environment and combating climate change
- Participation in democratic life
The University of Tübingen possesses the 'European Charter for Higher Education (ECHE)', which entitles it to participate in the program and obliges it to implement the declaration on higher education policy.
