Liebe Mitglieder der Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftlichen Fakultät,
der Faculty of Science Day steht erneut vor der Tür.
Zeit: Mittwoch, 01. Juli 2026, 15 Uhr bis 18 Uhr
Ort: im Hörsaal des GUZ (Schnarrenbergstr. 94-96)
Unser Dekan, Prof. Dr. Thilo Stehle, präsentiert aktuelle Entwicklungen und gibt einen Einblick in die Fakultätsgeschehnisse des vergangenen Jahres. Die neuberufenen Professor*innen sowie kürzlich habilitierten (und an der Universität gebliebenen) Wissenschaftler*innen erhalten die Möglichkeit, sich vorzustellen und aus Ihrer eigenen Forschung zu berichten.
Im Anschluss wird es eine Preisverleihung für den seit diesem Jahr existierenden Dedicated Education Award geben. Der Award steht für die Würdigung von herausragendem Engagement in der Lehre, bei dem auch mehrere Personen ausgezeichnet werden können.
Zudem steht auch dieses Jahr die Preisverleihung des Physik Instrumente (PI) SE & Co. KG Innovation Awards an, mit dem herausragende Promotionen mit außerordentlichem Innovationspotenzial ausgezeichnet werden.
Den Abschluss bildet ein Get Together mit einer Poster-Ausstellung zum Thema ‚Innovative Lehrformate‘ sowie einem Catering.
Alle Mitglieder der Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftlichen Fakultät sind herzlich dazu eingeladen, den Fakultätstag mitzugestalten und diesen als Möglichkeit der Vernetzung zu nutzen.

Dear members of the Faculty of Science,
the Faculty of Science Day is just around the corner once again.
Time: Wednesday, July 1, 2026, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Location: in the lecture hall of the GUZ (Schnarrenbergstr. 94-96)
Our Dean, Prof. Dr. Thilo Stehle, will present current developments and provide an overview of faculty events from the past year. Newly appointed professors as well as researchers who have recently completed their habilitation (and remained at the university) will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and report on their own research.
This will be followed by an awards ceremony for the Dedicated Education Award, which was established this year. The award recognizes outstanding dedication to teaching, and several individuals may be honored.
In addition, this year’s Physik Instrumente (PI) SE & Co. KG Innovation Award ceremony will take place, honoring outstanding doctoral theses with exceptional innovative potential.
The event will conclude with a get-together featuring a poster exhibition on the topic of “Innovative Teaching Formats” and catering.
All members of the Faculty of Sciences are cordially invited to help shape the Faculty Day and to use it as an opportunity for networking
