“Optimism in the face of uncertainty" – a good way of summing up how one could face dilemmas and tough choices in ones life. No one knows whether their choice was the right one. “We’re not given knowledge about our true skill level,” says Charley Wu, LEAD member and a cognitive scientist at the University of Tübingen in an article in Men's Health. Wu studies so-called “explore-exploit” decisions. “We have to acquire that knowledge through interrogating ourselves, through testing ourselves.”
