Postdoctoral Position in Gravitational Wave Physics at the University of Tübingen, Germany

The Theoretical Astrophysics section (TAT) at the University of Tuebingen has an opening for one postdoctoral research position (Wissenschaftlicher Assistent/ Research Assistant, full position – 100%) starting from 1st October 2024.

The successful applicant will carry out original research focusing on the dynamics of relativistic objects and the emission of gravitational and electromagnetic radiation.

The position is initially for 1 year with the possibility of further extension, up to maximum of 2 more years, that will be decided after the first year. The successful applicant is expected to assist teaching with a maximum of four (4) hours per week. The salary will be paid according to the German public service scale.

The research activities of TAT are related to the study of sources of gravitational waves with emphasis on the dynamics of neutron stars and black holes. Currently consists of two (2) post-doctoral researchers, three (3) PhD students and two (2) MSc students (including an Emmy-Noether Research Group led by Dr. D. Doneva).
