The International Advisory Board is visiting the University of Tübingen
From June 18 to 21, the International Advisory Board (IAB) convenes again in Tübingen after a longer break due to the Corona pandemic. The newly appointed board members Prof. Dr. Janet Hering and Prof. Zeblon Vilakazi come to the University for the first time in this function.
The high-profile international panel of experts was constituted in 2015 and advises the President’s Office on issues regarding the University’s strategic orientation. This year's meeting serves as an interim evaluation of the University's excellence strategy since the beginning of the current funding phase in 2019. Together with the President’s Office, the research division and various experts, the IAB members discuss the measures outlined in the excellence application and their implementation. These include the provision of research infrastructure, measures for internationalization and strategic networking as well as for knowledge transfer and innovation.
The board members are researchers from various disciplines who hold or held leading positions in their internationally renowned home universities as well as in national science organizations.
