The path is only cleared when you walk. But you have to walk it.

What is it?
Are you passionate about a social issue and do you want to address it together with other students? Would you like to gain your first practical experience, take on responsibility and shape the future?

The range of topics is as exciting as it is attractive - and you can have your civic engagement accredited as course work for the acquisition of transdisciplinary skills.
Why do we do it?
We want to encourage our students to assume social responsibility through personal civic engagement. We therefore support the integration of this time-intensive work into academia with flexible formats that fit into the highly individual student life. Students engage in a topic that is important to them and motivates them. They deepen their knowledge, acquire a wide variety of skills in positions of responsibility, and develop new perspectives - in the spirit of the Transdisciplinary Course Program.

We are a group of young people who have something important in common: The motivation to work for the improvement of living conditions in Latin America and to raise interest and awareness for the continent in our social environment.
Together with our donors, we provide financial support for social projects in Latin America. In addition, we organize cultural and development events related to Latin America in Germany.
The projects we support are the result of local initiatives that counteract social grievances in various ways. The main focus of the projects is food security, medical care, education and culture.

You would like to get involved with a student initiative? You love research and science? Would you like to help communicate them?
Then Faktor14 Magazine is the right place for you!
Who are we and what do we do?
Faktor14 is a student magazine for research and science. We report about student research at our university. It doesn't matter if it's a term paper, a bachelor thesis, a master thesis or a doctoral dissertation. We want to make student research accessible to as many people as possible. We therefore regularly publish student articles in our magazine and on our website.
This is not only a lot of fun for us. It is more important than ever in today's post-factual times. But it also means a lot of work. Therefore, we would be happy if you would like to join our editorial team.

The Nightline Tübingen is a listening phone from students for students. We have a sympathetic ear for worries and problems or simply for those who need to talk. We do not want to provide ready-made solutions, nor do we want to act as a professional counseling center. Rather, we would like to offer the opportunity for a non-binding conversation among students at eye level. We work anonymously, confidentially and without prejudice, and are independent of religion and politics. We are a group of volunteer students from various disciplines who are trained and continuously educated in conversation techniques. In addition, volunteers can expand their skills in organizational tasks, e.g. in the area of public relations or fundraising.
You can find more information, including opportunities to work with us, on our website. Feel free to email us and follow us on social media.

Der Grüne Faden ('The Green Thread') is a student-organized sewing workshop that currently takes place every Thursday at the Asylum Center in Tübingen. Here, people with and without refugee experience can sew sustainable products from donated fabrics. Through the sale of these products, further education measures can be made possible. With this project we want to achieve social coming together and the strengthening of an integrative society, while acting ecologically sustainable. For this, we offer a space for social interaction and getting to know each other, creativity, sustainability and language exchange.
If you would like to join us, please contact us. It would be ideal, if you could support us on Thursdays from 17 - 19 o'clock in the sewing workshop. Of course you can also join the Orga-Team, which meets once a week.
We are looking forward to you!
The Junge Tübinger Tafel ('Young Foodbank Tübingen') - saving food and fighting for social justice!
We support the classic 'Tafel' (foodbank) in its daily tasks: collecting food from supermarkets, sorting it in the foodbank and then distributing it to the customers. We also have our own projects. We do a lot of public relations work, e.g., on social media, come up with programs for the children of the foodbank customers, and much more. One of our goals is to make volunteering at the foodbank popular and well-known among younger people, too!
We make an important contribution to the design of information materials and bring our ideas to the foodbank Tübingen. On Saturdays, we even organize our own shift with driving and preparation. Feel free to drop by! We meet every two weeks on Wednesdays for a plenary session and are always happy to welcome new faces. You can participate as much or as little as you like.
Fun at work is guaranteed and maybe you will get to know a new vegetable ;)

In their concerts, the vocal artists perform sophisticated a cappella literature from the 20th and 21st centuries, often in unconventional venues such as remote chapels or former boiler rooms.

With shock, dismay, great sadness and concern we - the student initiatives at the University of Tübingen - follow the current developments of the Russian war against Ukraine.
We strongly reject war as a means to solve all kinds of conflicts! The students of the student initiatives continue to stand up for peaceful and responsible joint action across borders in their different thematic contexts.
The student initiatives remain - especially against the background of the current situation in Ukraine - open to ALL students of the University of Tübingen - regardless of their origin, nationality, religion, faith or gender!
