Semester Program and Course Registration from B1

How many German courses can I take in a semester?
  • 3 courses + choir and/or theater or:      
  • 1 Aufbaukurs (Intensive Course) + 1 additional course + theater and/or choir

Step 1: Semester program

To the courses in the winter term 2025/26: our current program or on alma 

Step 2: Placement test

  • The placement test is mandatory. Course registration is only possible once we have uploaded your placement result in Alma.  If you have already attended courses with us and want to move up to a higher level, a new test is required!
  • The test takes place online via Zoom (multiple choice test).

 Tests in winter semester 2025/26: The placement for this semester is closed now.

Step 3: Course advising

Are you unsure which course(s) to take? We will be happy to advise you on all your questions! 

Online Consulation in the winter term will start from Oct.9. Slots will be available here from September.

Step 4: Course registration

Please take the placement test first. Afterwards, you can register directly with us by e-mail for courses from B1 upwards. Please include the following information in the email: 
- your preferred course(s)
- your full name
- your status at the university
- your level in the placement test

The classes will start from Tuesday, October 21.
You can attend a maximum of 3 courses (plus choir / theater) or 1 more intensive class in the “Aufbaukurs” + 1 additional course (plus choir / theater) in the main registration.
