The structure of SFB 1070 ResourceCultures is based on interdisciplinary collaboration of all the different subjects involved. Especially cooperation among ancient studies, modern cultural studies and sciences is necessary to research socio-cultural dynamics in the use of resources. This requires increased scientific coordination, i.e. through time and space management, which contributes to interdisciplinary studies and publications of results within SFB 1070. For this purpose, the organization of conferences, workshops, collective publications are important, as well as the development of internal communication structures and collaboration between both other central projects: Service Project S and Scientific Communication.

In the second funding phase, interdisciplinary cooperation takes place in smaller working groups led by postdocs on the one hand, and in theory groups led by professors on the other. In addition, every semester there are events within the SFB in which the working and theory groups, but also the doctoral researchers and postdocs, present their results and discuss them in an interdisciplinary manner.
External expertise is brought to Tübingen through regular SFB Colloquia and numerous ResourceCultures Dialogues organised by junior researchers.
At the two centrally organised international conferences "Waters as a Resource" and "ResourceCultures. Reflections and New Perspectives", researchers from various disciplines discussed the topics of the SFB 1070. These were also complemented by two international workshops that emerged from the postdoc and doctoral working groups and dealt with "European Islands Between Isolated and Interconnected Life Worlds" and "Beyond Subsistence".
The scientific work of the SFB 1070 is made accessible to an international scientific audience in various ways. On the one hand, the SFB 1070 has its own book series in which the central work of the SFB is published. On the other hand, the researchers of the SFB 1070 also publish in numerous international peer-reviewed journals, in conference proceedings and internationally visible publishing houses, whereby the coordination project is also involved in various publications.
The work of the SFB 1070 was also made accessible to a broader public, as the SFB 1070 participated in the Tübinger Fenster Für Forschung, carried out school projects and also created a virtual museum in which the research results are presented to a non-scientific audience in the form of exhibitions and individual objects.
