The report „Kompetenzen für den erfolgreichen Übergang von der Sekundarstufe I in die berufliche Ausbildung sichern“ by the Standing Scientific Commission on Education Policy (SWK) analyzes key challenges at the interface between school and vocational training. It offers recommendations on how young people can be better prepared for this transition and supported in the process, including targeted skill acquisition, adaptive and digital subject teaching, and diagnosis-based support formats.
The report particularly emphasizes the importance of self-regulated learning. Educational researcher Prof. Dr. Ulrich Trautwein explains in an interview with the online magazine schulmanagement why self-regulated learning is crucial for effective teaching - and where further action is needed.
