Students who frequently wander off in their thoughts achieve poorer exam results. Targeted strategies against mind wandering can help to improve attention.

You've just been in maths class and you're already thinking about what photo you're going to post on Instagram later. When thoughts wander in class, the learning process is interrupted. Students who are frequently affected by mind wandering often achieve poorer results in exams. In an interview with the online magazine Schulmanagement, LEAD member Dr Babette Bühler explains how students can refocus on their tasks.
