The handbook "Focus on Lesson Evaluation" contributes to quality improvement in general education schools

Guidelines for observing and evaluating teaching

Since the start of this school year, the Ministry of Education in Baden-Württemberg has been providing a new tool for quality development. The handbook "Focus on Lesson Evaluation" serves as a supplement for teachers, trainers, and school supervisors to observe and assess teaching quality in general education schools. It offers supporting materials such as lesson feedback forms and an observation manual. The guide aims to provide uniform and transparent evaluation criteria. These facilitate both peer feedback and the formal assessment and further development of teaching.

Among others, Prof. Dr. Benjamin Fauth from the Hector Institute contributed editorially; Prof. Dr. Ulrich Trautwein provided scientific consultation.

The guide is available online free of charge.
