What effects do conscientiousness and interest have on students?
New publication about the CONIC model

Conscientiousness and interest are key to whether pupils make an effort in class and with their homework, and they can partially compensate for each other.
This is described in detail in the CONIC model. CONIC stands for “Conscientiousness × Interest Compensation”. The CONIC model urges researchers and practitioners to attend to both interest and conscientiousness, as these two constructs stem from research fields that have interacted very little over the last few decades, but both predict academic effort above and beyond each other.
