RTG Member at Summer School „Linguistic Summer Institute“ at University of Chicago

This year's „Linguistic Summer Institute“ of the Linguistic Society of America took place from 06.-31.07. at the University of Chicago. Its motto was „Linguistic Theory in a World of Big Data”. RTG member Bettina Remmele took part in this Summer School, attending various intensive courses as „Intonational Phonology“(Sun-Ah Jun), „Neuroscience of Language“ (Ellen Lau), „Sentence Processing“ (Lyn Frazier) or „Forensic Linguistics“ (Carole Chaski). Numerous additional courses were on offer, i.e. a workshop on the "publishing process" or further talks like Dan Jurafsky talking about „Extracting social meaning from Language“ or Paul Smolensky on „Grammar with gradient symbol structures“. All in all, the Summer School was a big success!
