Appointment procedure in the Scientific Service

Appointment procedures and procedures for filling positions - in the academic mid-level faculty (Mittelbau) - determine who will work, teach and research at the University of Tübingen in the future. Appointment procedures are therefore central in setting the course for equal opportunities and to increase diversity. Here will be decided whether the best are selected and whether it is possible to meet the targets of the equal opportunities plan.
Monitoring appointment procedures is one of the most important and challenging gender equality tasks. The aim is to create equal opportunities by maintaining transparency and standards throughout the entire process.

Equal opportunities monitoring of appointment procedures in the academic service is an essential part of quality assurance at the University of Tübingen.

The appointment of professors and the recruitment of staff is also the key to diversification. Diversity enriches academic life because it enables the exchange of different perspectives - we need it if we want to be innovative.
The University of Tübingen also expresses these central ideas in all its job advertisements. It is committed to the goals of equity and diversity and actively promotes equal opportunities.
