Prof. Dr. Samuel Wagner took up his post as Vice-President for Sustainable Development in September 2024. His responsibilities include developing a sustainable development strategy, chairing the Advisory Board for Sustainable Development, and fostering collaboration across all levels of (university) policy.
He is currently developing a comprehensive strategy for sustainable development together with the Competence Center for Sustainable Development (CCSD), the Digital Transformation and Change Management Unit, and key players at the university, and is involving UT members in participatory events for this purpose.
Prof. Dr. Wagner has also set up the Taskforce for Sustainable Labs, which he coordinates with the CCSD. This taskforce aims to support all university laboratories in working more sustainably, for example by reducing their water and energy consumption and waste production.
