BOOKS collaborates with community partners (non-profit organizations) in Germany that champion social and educational justice in underserved communities. Through this collaboration, our partners contribute to the service-learning course in two concrete ways: (1) sharing their perspectives and experiences working with underserved communities, particularly children and seniors, with university students attending our courses, and (2) providing direct civic engagement experience for university students interested in volunteering with them to address community needs. While BOOKS uses storytelling and bookmaking to connect with underserved communities, other creative formats meaningful to the community are also welcomed.
