Study on school reform

Results presented on press conference with the Ministry of Education

In a joint press conference with the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Education, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Trautwein presented today the key findings of the study "Consequences of the G8 Reform": The authors Ulrich Trautwein, Nicolas Hübner, Wolfgang Wagner and Jochen Kramer found no differences in high school scores of G8 and G9 students, no or only slight differences in skills in mathematics, physics and biology, greater perceived stress and less good well-being for the G8 students.

Within the G8 reform, the duration in the Gymnasium was reduced from nine to eight school years in many States of Germany.
