Tübingen becomes site of the German Center for Mental Health

Numerous LEAD members are involved

Creating optimal research conditions to combat widespread diseases - this is one of the central concerns of the German Centers for Health Research, which are funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). With their application as the location of the new German Center for Mental Health, the scientists of the Center for Mental Health at the University Hospital and the Medical Faculty of the University of Tübingen, together with other Tübingen cooperation partners including the LEAD Graduate School & Research Network, were able to win the bid.

"The interplay of neuromodulation, enhanced psychotherapy and computational psychiatry forms the basis for improved treatment of people with mental illnesses," says LEAD member Andreas Fallgatter. "These can be, for example, depression, psychoses, addiction and anxiety disorders, eating disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)," adds the coordinator of the Tübingen center.

Other LEAD members involved are Annette Conzelmann, Brigit Derntl, Ann-Christine Ehlis, Tobias Renner (all University Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy), Ulrike Cress (IWM), Caterina Gawrilow, Hans-Christoph Nürk, Jennifer Svaldi (all Department of Psychology) and Ulrich Trautwein (Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology).
