Lectures of the seminar "Global Challenges to Development"

Pilot project of a virtual world trip in the format of a serious game will be offered again in WS 22-23

After the successful pilot project in SoSe 22, the seminar "What is globalization?" will be offered again in WS 22. Students can enroll in three dates: Thursdays at 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm. This project is a partnership with the Master Profile Digital Humanities and the Center for Teaching and Learning. Together we have developed a virtual world trip in a serious game format to teach and discuss the basics of the globalization debate. This seminar will be credited in the compulsory area of the Global Awareness Certificate.

Seminars in partnership with the Doctoral Certificate Program in ‘Global South Studies‘ in WS 22-23

In this WS 22-23, four seminars from the Doctoral Certificate Program in "Global South Studies" will be offered in the Global Awareness Education program: 

All four seminars are interdisciplinary courses on current issues discussed from the perspective of the Global South. Registration for these seminars is done through ALMA. The credit points earned in these seminars can be counted towards elective (a) Thematic Courses of the Global Awareness Certificate

Student Research Projects in WS 22-23

A seminar in the Student Research Projects format this WS 22-23 will explore a thematic area:

  • "The Roma Holocaust in the Roma Transnational Civil Rights Movement."

The course will be offered by Glaucia Peres da Silva. Registration for these seminars is through ALMA. Credit points earned in these seminars may be applied toward elective (c) Student Research Projects of the Global Awareness Certificate.
