The Tropicarium with ist unusual architecture has long since become the architectural landmark of the Botanical Garden. With its area of 2800m² and a maximum height of 15 meters, it is ideal not just for showing the many plant species, but also to show other typical aspects of the tropical rainforest.
The tropicarium is structured as follows:
- Tropical crops plants. In the western part of this section which can be reached via a staircase, tropical plants from pineapple to sugar cane are shown and many species are labeled with information boards.
- Tropical ferns. To the right of the entrance is a systematically structured planting area of ferns.
- Troic rainforest. This is the largest area and includes the rest of the house. This area is geographically divided, with species of the New World in planting areas along the facade, the old world plants are shown in the center of the house.
