Summary:

How can mechanical stress trigger molecular responses? To tackle this question, we developed a microfluidic device that allows to trap living protoplasts, to induce tightly controlled mechanical stress, coupled with high-resolution microscopy. After assessing different levels of mechanical stress endured by the protoplasts, we will analyse the molecular responses triggered by mechanical stress. These results will give a better understanding of the first steps of mechano-sensing signalling and responses.
