Student Assistant (m/f/d), Hector Children's Academies

20 hours/month

Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology (Director: Prof. Dr. Trautwein) is looking, as part of the scientific monitoring of the Hector Children’s Academies, for

a student assistant (m/f/d)
with a workload of approx. 20 hours per month.

The position will start on January 15, 2026 or February 1, 2026 and is initially limited to 6 months. We welcome a longer-term collaboration, so an extension of the employment is intended.

The Hector Institute of Empirical Educational Research focuses in research and teaching on individual, social, and institutional determinants of teaching and learning processes. The team responsible for the scientific monitoring of the Hector Children’s Academies continuously investigates the effectiveness of a support program for particularly gifted and highly gifted children. The findings from the scientific studies, which are conducted in cooperation with the Hector Children’s Academies and their partner schools, feed into the further development of the support program.

As part of the further development of the Hector Core Courses in the field of biology, we are looking for a committed student assistant with a didactic background in biology, who will support us in revising and optimizing the course materials.

Typical tasks:

  • Reviewing and structuring existing teaching units
  • Revising and didactically adapting biology course materials
  • Supporting the conceptual further development

Your profile:

  • Student in biology teacher education
  • Interest in gifted education and the practical implementation of biology teaching topics
  • Confident use of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • High level of independence, structured and careful working style
  • Good level of English for communication in the international team; the tasks are carried out predominantly in German
