Tübingen researchers welcome the public
TÜFFF research fair lets you look behind the scenes at the University’s laboratories, hospitals and institutes: 25 April
How do our brains work? What does an ice age archaeologist do? What is the latest research on ADHS? Researchers from Tübingen University, University Hospitals, and many research institutes provide us with a look at their work at our research fair, TÜFFF (Tübinger Fenster für Forschung) on Friday, 25 April 2014 at the science lecture center (Auf der Morgenstelle 16), 5-10pm. An exciting program focuses on current research with a science slam, guided tours of the labs, presentations and lectures. At our information stands you can observe experiments or carry them out yourself.
University research partners such as the Max Planck Institutes, the Knowledge Media Research Center and the Natural and Medical Sciences Institute in Reutlingen will be on hand to present their groundbreaking work. TÜFFF will showcase research in fields as diverse as Neuroscience, Psychology, Education, Astrophysics and Mathematics. The Institute of Physical Chemistry is organising a program of experiments for children and teachers. The Center for Plant Molecular Biology, the Institute of Physics and the Botanical Gardens will offer guided tours. You can look at a body scanner at the International Center for Ethics in the Sciences and Humanities and at marine fishes with shining eyes at the Institute of Evolution and Ecology.
“TÜFFF allows people to experience the sciences and humanities, and to see what a wide spectrum of issues we offer,” says University Vice-President of Research Professor Herbert Müther. “We are looking forward to meet many interested visitors from Tübingen and the wider region.”
All events are free and there is no need to register, however numbers must be limited on guided tours. Lectures and tours will be held in German.
