Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a scholarship for Startup:Yourself - Leadership Talent Academy?

All academic members and alumni (with a master’s degree or higher) of the university and associated institutions (e.g. MPI Tübingen) with inner drive and passion are welcome to apply for LTA. After a selection interview by the Startup Center, a total of 20 scholarships will be awarded. The scholarship covers the costs for all 3 modules including up to 8 coaching hours per person.

Are there any extra costs?

The scholarship covers all costs of the seminar except for the expenses for overnight accommodation which amount to approximately 445 € (per person in total).

Do I have to attend all of the modules?

Yes. To successfully participate in LTA, it is essential to attend all modules.

Why do some modules take place off-site?

To fully focus on your goals and progress in your personal development, it is necessary to leave your private surroundings. During the off-site weekends, there is enough time to discuss and think about your topics outside of the workshops.

How is the trip to the off-site locations organized?

In general, the participants travel on their own responsibilities. However, if possible, the Startup Center organizes a shuttle bus from Tübingen to the off-site locations and back.

Am I allocated to a coach?

No. The Startup Center has a large pool of professional coaches and each participant can choose a coach him-/her-self. Before the first module, the Startup Center provides the opportunity to get to know the coaches. Furthermore, participants can organize a 15-minutes “chemistry call” with a coach before the decision is made.

Do the coaching sessions have to be used up by the end of the third module?

No. The coaching sessions must be completed before the start of the next batch.

Can I split my coaching hours between different coaches?

After the kickoff date with our external coaches you are free to book one of the external coaches for up to 5 hours. The Startup Center team is available for another 3 coaching hours.

Do I get a certificate?

Yes. All participants who successfully attended the three modules will receive a certificate.

Am I reimbursed expenses for overnight accommodation by Tübingen University?

The Startup Center will issue an invoice for the costs but it depends on your department/institution whether a reimbursement is possible or not.
