Summary:

Phosphoproteomics was used to compare the signaling networks that are activated by the wound signaling peptide systemin and MAMPs. We aim to confirm the systemin-specific signaling network using phosphoproteomics in a systemin receptor (SYR1) mutant, and to assess the specific contri-bution of PLL5 and GLR3.3. The Systemin-like peptide SysC exhibited unique signaling activity. We aim to understand the basis of SysC-specific signaling that depends in part on SYR1. We propose that SYR1 may engage in different receptor complexes in a ligand-dependent manner. Our objective is the identification of the proteins that interact with SYR1 after systemin and SysC stimulation.
