In this basic module, you will gain fundamental knowledge and understanding of the significance of discrimination in our society (historically, structurally, individually). You will learn about different manifestations and discuss, using current examples, how to actively combat discrimination. Particular focus is given to antisemitism and anti-Muslim racism, highlighting their differences. In the subsequent modules (Advanced I and II), you will delve deeply into these areas. This module is a prerequisite for taking the advanced modules. Therefore, this course should be taken at the beginning of the certificate program.

2. Advanced I: Antisemitism-critical Education (6 CP):

The Advanced Module I provides a comprehensive engagement with the topic of antisemitism. From reflecting on personal experiences to phenomenological approaches in society, media, and daily life, to specific forms of antisemitism, the seminar offers deep insights into the complexity of the topic. The religious and theological roots of antisemitism are also explored. Additionally, the perception of contemporary and lived Judaism in our society is addressed. This aims to reflect and promote active engagement against antisemitism in various areas of responsibility (e.g., science, education, media).
