Summary

Project A04 will perform in vivo and in vitro analysis of kinesin 12 (POK) motor proteins during the positioning and establishment of the plane of cell division. POKs are relevant for the maintenance and recognition of the plane of cell division. Using optical tweezers, modern quantitative single-molecule force-measurements will contribute to elucidate the yet unknown molecular mechanism of these specific plant kinesins in vitro. Furthermore, for life cell imaging, a light-sheet microscope will be constructed to investigate single-molecules (kinesin) in living plant cells.
